Current Opportunities

Our Farm is divided into three teams: Production, Market, and Culinary. We work together, allowing our skills to cross-pollinate, and share a unified mission of delivering the best possible products and experience for our customers and community.

Production positions grow good food in our fields, greenhouses, and wash/pack.

Market positions provide excellent customer service in our farm market and/or greenhouses. 

Culinary positions prepare good food in our Farmside Kitchen food truck.

Culinary Positions for 2024 are currently accepting applications. 
Production Position applications for 2024 are no longer being accepted.

Available Culinary Positions for 2024 Season

Job Title: Food Truck Lead Line Cook

Hours: Full-Time

Food Truck is open for service Tuesdays - Saturdays from 11am - 5pm with Sundays and Mondays off.

Duration: mid-April through early November 

Compensation: $18 - $22 starting hourly pay, based on experience, plus tips

Five day work week with daytime hours. Positive and collaborative work environment with opportunities for advancement.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our farm's culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, excellent cooking skills, the capability to adapt, creativity and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Food Truck Lead Line Cook, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our food offerings while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will be involved in all aspects of our culinary operations and will be expected to act with integrity, treat others with respect and kindness, and maintain a can-do attitude. You will have a chance to work in a fast-paced, highly productive, and dynamic organic market farm kitchen alongside a friendly and knowledgeable crew . This position is ideal for individuals who are interested in organic farming, producing food items from scratch, have a passion for good food, and enjoy working in a creative and collaborative environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient operation of the food truck.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Open and close Food Truck
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels
  • Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking and preparing orders, providing exceptional customer service at all times

     

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Proven experience as a Line Cook or similar role in a restaurant or food truck setting
    • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations

    Job Title: Lead Prep Cook

    Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time

    Mondays - Fridays from 8am - 5pm

    Duration: April through December with potential for year-round employment.

    Compensation: $18 - $22 starting hourly pay, based on experience, plus tips

    Job Summary

    Assist in all aspects of teamwork to prepare, present, and preserve the highest quality organic produce in northern Michigan. Preparing food items from hyper local sources requires adaptability, critical thinking, and an assertive approach to completing tasks. An ability to stay focused, work quickly and independently, ask good questions, pay attention to detail, take the lead when needed and be a team-player is essential to this role. 

    You will be involved in all aspects of our culinary operations and will be expected to act with integrity, treat others with respect and kindness, and maintain a can-do attitude. You will have a chance to work in a fast-paced, highly productive, and dynamic organic market farm kitchen alongside a friendly and knowledgeable crew . This position is ideal for individuals who are interested in organic farming, producing food items from scratch, have a passion for good food, and enjoy working in a creative and collaborative environment.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Working effectively with the kitchen team, and complying with company procedures and food safety policies
    • Preparing workstation with required ingredients and equipment, and keeping station sanitary and organized throughout the shift
    • Preparing ingredients following recipes and guidelines
    • Preparing and preserving hyper fresh ingredients and other basic cooking responsibilities
    • Preparing soups, grab and go items, and other items for Farm Market and Farmside Kitchen food truck
    • Ensuring ingredients are tagged, date-labeled, covered, stored, and rotated effectively
    • Overseeing food levels and restocking items on time
    • Keeping utensils and equipment clean and sanitary
    • Establishing stock levels at end of shift and capturing information for next day's prep list
    • Removing trash and clearing storage bins

       

      Qualifications & Skills:

      • 2+ years of kitchen production experience
      • Excellent understanding of scratch food preparation fundamentals
      • Ability to follow recipes
      • Sound understanding of food allergies and food borne illnesses
      • Basic mathematical skills
      • Proficient knife handling skills
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
